The NBA Draft Rundown: Centers

 Running out of time here, so...

Top Ten Centers 

  1. James Wiseman, Memphis
  2. Onyeka Okongwu, USC 
  3. Daniel Oturu, Minnesota (personally he was the best Center in college last year, so...) 
  4. Mamadi Diakite, Virginia (might be my pick for defensive player of the year, a Naismith finalist. A senior so that hurts him... for some reason... you’d think you’d want experienced big men on your team but I digress. Lucky if we see him go at all this draft) 
  5. Vernon Carey Jr., Duke (really ramped it up in the second month of his freshman season, held very good stats through the whole year and will prove to be a good centre if a team wants one) 
  6. Isaiah Stewart, Washington (I suppose he's more of a power forward, so my bad here, but very resonant defensively with good offensive production)
  7. Kaleb Wesson, Ohio State (solid all-round player who needs to develop a defensive presence to play starting minutes, but he can do everything well)
  8. Udoka Azubuike, Kansas (more of a traditional shutdown centre, not a shooter)
  9. Zeke Nnaji (a higher rated prospect for his age (19) but another one needing refinement or one area he excels in to eventually play regular minutes)
  10. Nick Richards, Kentucky (because obviously)

Update - NBA Playoffs, August 13th 2020

Brook Lopez and Dante DiVincenzio are leading the way for the Milwaukee Bucks against the Memphis Grizzlies, who at one point led this game by 11. Presently, 52-45 for the Grizzlies, former Toronto Raptor Jonas Valanciunas is already nearing a double-double in 14 minutes of play. Presumed Rookie of the Year Ja Morant just scoring his eighth point of the contest. (60-50 at halftime; Valanciunas has achieved that double-double and is on pace for a 25-20-10 stat line. The seven assists already tallied by the Lithuanian center is a career-high.) Frank Mason III, G-League MVP of the Year, is seeing extended action for the Bucks today after a stellar season with their minor league affiliated Wisconsin Herd. He averaged more than 20 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds a game this year for the Herd, three years after being named Big 12 Player of the Year as a senior at Kansas.  Well, it's about time. Whereas the 2020-21 NHL season should have started around today, coronavirus and social distance precautions have led us to today.
